Loves! It’s Monday, it’s May, and I’m back! I could start this post and go into where I’ve been this last week or so but I don’t even want to relive the craziness that was me waiting to pick up my Macbook from being repaired. It. Got. Real. I’d rather just jump right in and put all that behind me :). What better way to get back into things this week than with a beauty review! I’ve been trying and testing and trying some more and here it is finally! My first review of the Shea Moisture makeup line!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, not following This Brown Queen or any other beauty blog, you’d know that orange lipstick is in right now. I’ll be honest, because I keep it real around these parts, when I first started seeing this trend I wasn’t here for it. I was all like “orange though? booo.” Because let’s face it. Orange isn’t exactly a standard color and I wasn’t sure how it would play out on this brown girl. So I did some digging and I’ve come up with a few different options of orange for the bold diva to the lowkey chic.
Hey loves! I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve posted! Life has been throwing me through a loop so please don’t charge it to my heart. My Macbook needs a new battery which sucks so bad. On top of that I’ve been working on a few freelance projects that have me up insane hours of the night. Most days have been lip gloss, brows, and go so you know it’s real!
Oh my goodness this weekend was everythinggg as far as the weather was concerned. It was downright beautiful outside. I was itching to get out with the kiddies first thing in the morning but Friday night was wash day and my flat twists were not dry by the time we went to head out. So turban life for me it was.
Hello Loves. As you all know brown beauty is my thing. It’s what I do. I’ve always been very passionate about the beauty industry and it’s seemingly blind eye towards women of color. Some brands get it…most do not. I’ve been very firm in my stance and have strived to support those brands that support us. The beauty industry has definitely come a long way and there’s still ways to go, but you can imagine how truly happy I was to come across this article highlighting a new age in brown beauty.
Be still my heart! *Cue dramatics because well…I’m dramatic lol* So this morning, while pressing snooze on my phone and scrolling Instagram I came across an obviously flawless picture of my best friend Lupita. Thinking simply to myself “Lupita so pretty likeee I can’t take it.” as usual. But then, THEN I read the caption on HuffPostBeauty which read “Breaking News! Lupita Nyong’o for Lancôme US” and that’s when I just about lost it.
