Because I’m working on a new venture which will have me bringing you more raves, reviews and fabulous make up looks. Can you say excited?! Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick1

Today I’m raving all about Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick in 355 Coconut. The darkest of the shades, this foundation is everything to me! Here’s what the good folks at Maybelline say:

It’s one-step perfection.
The first of its kind – lightweight gel stick foundation with an anti-shine powder core:

  • Powder core instantly dissolves excess oil.
  • For flawless, shine-free skin and tailor-made natural matte coverage.
  • Easy to apply and great on-the go.
  • Available in 12 oil-free shades.

This Brown Queens says:

It took me forever to find my shade, I almost gave up but I’m so glad I didn’t :D. I love this stuff. For oh so many reasons. Where shall I begin? First, I have interesting skin. It’s oily in some places, dry in others. I would never use a foundation that isn’t designed to work well for oily skin. Otherwise by the end of the day I end up looking crazy. Matte foundations make me a bit nervous because of some random dry patches, but as long as I use a good moisturizer I’m fine. So. That being said I was extremely excited for a matte foundation that had a powder core to dissolve oil. HELLO MY LOVE. And I was also extremely excited for a foundation that was so easy to apply and take along with me. I’m lazy queens. No for real. So any extra step I can exclude is a win for me. I find it lasts a full work day for me and I really don’t get oily throughout the day with this. It blends seamlessly and gives a matte finish I love.

I’ve been using this as my daily foundation for awhile now. I find that the coverage is medium at best for me. I’ve heard some people say it’s buildable but I wouldn’t know. I use a flat top powder brush to apply (that I spritz very lightly with MAC Fix+. It helps blend for me). I love the fact that it’s so lightweight. Perfect for everyday wear at the gig. Or early Saturday morning football games when your son doesn’t get that you’re taking a pic for the blog ;).

Mommy & Sdot and Maybelline of course

So have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

Peace, Love, & Blessings

NYX Haul Review

So, you may have read about my recent NYX discovery here, but if not definitely go check it out!

Since my initial excitement has now subsided and I’ve had time to actually breathe and use some products I come to you with this semi review of my NYX mini haul. Part 1.

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. Ok. Beauty YouTube gurus. You sold me. And NYX you lived up to the hype. This jumbo pencil is amazing. I use it as a base for all of my bright looks. Helps the eyeshadow stay on forever and brings out the pigment tremendously! Now….if only I could figure out to sharpen it. Read somewhere that there are special sharpeners for NYX Jumbo Pencils?? Yea I’ll Google that and get back to ya’ll.

NYX Lip Pencil in Natural. I love this Lip Pencil. It’s so creamy and glides on easily. I use it for my no make up days. Or my no make up make up days. Just adds the right amount of color to my lips to have them looking perfect. I use alone, under a gloss, a liner, or under a nude color lipstick. Loves it!

NYX Concealer Jar. Thumbs DOWNNN. For me, this just does not work. It looks patchy/ashy. No matter how I apply it. Finger tips, dabbing, concealer brush. Nothing. Yucksss. I won’t give up on it though. Maybe an eye primer of sorts? We’ll see.

NYX Round Lipstick in Peach Bellini. Such a disappointment. Because the color is GAWJUS just GAWJUS. But the lipstick is a no go. It smells strange, glides on streaky, and just doesn’t look nice. So sad.
