Fabulous Friday | Autumn Dreaming

Happy Friday Queens! I’m so excited about today’s Fab Friday post! If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you’ll see I posted this new lip last weekend. I got inspired while surfing YouTube and decided to do a full beat. Le sigh, it’s been so long since I did a full face. I almost forgot how good it feels! I contoured (I never contour) and even broke out some lashes (I hate lashes) so you know it was real. Keeping on trend for fall and This Brown Queen, I decided to go with purple lips. I mean I DID say I was going to be the Queen of Purple this fall ;). I also decided to feature my new Maybelline Limited Edition Eyeshadow Quad in Autumn Dream.

A little more detailed than I usually do but I want my Queens to know how to do this look!

FACE

1. Moisturize
2. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Cappuccino
3. Concealer: Maybelline Fit Me in 30 for under eye
4. Set with L’Oreal True Match Pressed Powder in Nut Brown
5. Lightly brush all over face with dark brown in the Elf Turks & Caicos Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
6. Wet N Wild Berry Shimmer Blush on apples
7. Used the darkest brown in my Elf Concealer Palette in Dark to contour

EYES

1. Prime with Elf Eyeshadow Primer
2. Apply NYX Concealer in a Jar in Tan all over lid
3. Using the Maybelline Autumn Dream quad apply the purple shade all over lid
4. Apply the green color in outer V and crease
5. Use a neutral color to transition. For me a use a warm brown from a BH Cosmetics palette
6. Milani Brow Kit in Medium Hi-Lite color to highlight
7. Using the dark blue, smudge along lower lash line 3/4 of the way
8. Use the bright color in tear duct and the remaining 1/4 lower lash line

LIPS

1. Prime with a lip primer. I use my same Elf Eye Primer.
2. Line and fill in with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet.
3. Lightly blot Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Midnight Plum on top

Fabulous Friday | Lavender Lips

Happy Friday Queens! Today’s Fab Friday post is going to feature my current favorites. Both Maybelline products. Who woulda thought? *sarcasm font* I’ve been a fan of the fresh face, neutral eyes, and bold lips lately. It’s all I’ve been wearing. I like it though soooo judge me. *shrugs* Anyway here’s me today. Giving you some fierce lavender love because…it is fall afterall and I will be the Queen of purple.

Fabulous Friday | Fresh Face

Happy Friday Queens! For today’s Fabulous Friday face I decided to go light, fresh, and feature a new foundation. I finally got my hands on the Maybelline FIT Me Foundation stick after looking for it foreverrrr. It’s easy enough to find…just not in my shade. You would think 355 – Coconut was limited edition based on my experience! The brown girl struggle lol. Enjoy my loves and make today Fabulous!

Fabulous Fridays | Bright Eyes & Dark Lips

My loves! I’ve missed you so! I can’t believe it’s been over a week since my last post. Ya’ll have no idea how that makes me feel. Disconnected that’s how and I hate it! Please excuse my absence. My boys started football last week and now I’m trying get my entire life together because NO ONE told me how hard it was going to be with 2 hour practices EVERY DAY for preseason. WHEW! THIS brown queen is beat! But that’s no excuse Queens so here I am! WITH a new blogging schedule that you will see next week so make sure you stop by!

So…How long has it been since I’ve done a Fabulous Friday post? TOO long obviously since I have to ask. Which quite honestly makes me sad because if it’s one thing I stress here is that, as the Queens we are, we MUST take time and focus on ourselves as well. It’s easy to get caught up in your career, your family, Life. There’s always that project that needs to be done, or that practice to attend. Trust me, I know. But as the age old saying goes…if the mama ain’t happy…well ya’ll know the rest. Regardless of what it is that makes you feel great make sure you carve out time to do that! And do it OFTEN! Now that I’m off my soapbox, I bring to you a fabulous face of the day featuring TWO new products that I absolutely love, Love, LOVE and I hope you will too! Enjoy Queens! It’s FRIDAY!

Face ~ Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation : Listen to me, when I tell you this…THIS foundation is EVERYTHING okay. Do you see that glow? It’s flawless. And so lightweight I feel like I’m wearing nothing at all! I can’t get enough of this foundation I really can not. By far my favorite foundation yet!

Fabulous Friday: Love Yourself Completely!

For this Fabulous Friday edition I wanted to take a minute to focus not on makeup but on your personal beauty and how you feel about yourself. One of the most important things you can do for yourselves Queens is to LOVE YOURSELF COMPLETELY. To me, this means not only accepting but embracing everything about you that makes you uniquely YOU! God makes no mistakes Queens. You look how you look, you are who you are for a very divine reason. While makeup is fun, I mean I L.O.V.E it!, it is not a means to transform you (unless you’re actually going for that) but  a means of enhancement. To enhance your beautiful self. We are ALL beauty Queens in one way or another!

This is a picture of me yesterday. I don’t want to focus on my actual makeup in this picture but rather the features that I enhanced. When I was younger I was teased for my large forehead and my big eyes.  I mean it’s true though haha! I have a big head so what. So does Tyra Banks ;). And my eyes? Well they are just large lol! But rather than wear bangs (which was actually suggested to me by a hairstylist go figure) or downplay my eyes with dark colors, I EMBRACE it! I enhance it. Most of the time I wear my hair pulled back. Not only because it’s easier, but it’s healthier for my hair so that’s what I do. And my eyes are actually my FAVORITE feature so you damn right I’m gonna use the brightest damn colors I can find to make them stand out (not that they need it 😉 ).  But this is me. Take it or leave it! And you know what? When I started loving me, the teasing turned to compliments! At least a few times a week I get complimented on my bright eyes. People always comment on them, but now in a positive way. Call me crazy but I think, that when *I* started loving them, others started to follow.

The point of my post Queens is this: Never alter yourself for the sake of others. Love Yourself first and others will follow. And if they don’t follow…you don’t really need to be associated with those people anyway 😉

Fabulous Fridays: Berry Pink!

Check the tagline. I mean I DID say I’m just brown queen…that’s FABULOUS. LOL! No seriously, one thing that has always been a constant struggle is remembering to take care of ME! I always found myself last (if that) on my list of things that needed to be taken care. Come on queens. You know what I’m talking about. Get the kids ready, do homework, start dinner, do laundry, go to work, pay bills, make time for hubby. We are queens after all. We have a kingdom to run! But how can I claim I’m a Queen walking around looking like a slug. After my mother staged a very dramatic “intervention” of sorts (Gosh I love that woman), I realized yes, I am important and I need to take care of ME. You know the saying goes, happy wife, happy life. All too true.

So with this in mind I decided to come up with a segment Fabulous Fridays! Where I post about how to get your fab on. Whether that’s making yourself over, beauty tips, faces of the day, outfits, whatever. Just be FABULOUS.

So that brings me to my FOTD. Springtime edition. Using my favorite color pink (who doesn’t love pink?!) and purple (the color of royalty, we’re queens afterall). Enjoy this BERRY PINK FOTD!
