Queens! I’ve seriously seriously missed you. Can you believe the insanity that is me not posting since August 1st?! I can’t. I could go into the long drawn out craziness that caused such a long absence but the short version is I got sick. Like really sick. Nothing too crazy but definitely a rough couple of weeks while I tried to get better. Which as a mother, when you’re sick it’s just like another day to them so my recovery was anything but quick and sweet. I’m so glad to finally be feeling like myself again and to be back here! Right in time for the changing seasons, trends, and my favorite time of the year!

Fall Beauty | My Lipstick Picks

It’s finally fall! And by that I mean it finally actually feels like fall outside instead of this extended summer thing we’ve been dealing with. No fun. I’m not into the still being able to walk around in tshirts in the middle of October. That’s not what I like. Any way, regardless of mother nature’s plans, my fall beauty routines have been in full effect and I’ve been rocking my favorite trend daily and loving it. What trend you ask? WHY dark vampy lips of course! I’ve mentioned numerous (probably more than ya’ll care to hear but *kanye shrugs* I like lipstick) times that bold vampy lips are huge this season and I’m sure you all have had no trouble spotting beauties everywhere pulling this look off. And you can too! Here are some of my favorites for this season!

1. Maybelline Midnight Plum: Deep purple lipstick

Trend Watch | Statement Coats

Queens! It’s Wednesday so I figured we’d continue on with the Trend Watch series I blogged about earlier this month. If you haven’t read about metallics make sure you check that out! But today It’s all about the coats this. Yes queens, coats. What’s crazy is, this is one trend I’m seriously going to have to put some work into because I’ll be honest…I don’t wear coats. On trend, in cold weather, or otherwise. I know, I know, I know. It’s horrible. At twenty*cough*six*cough you’d think by now I’d finally start listening to my mother. Ugh I can hear her voice now “Oh…so you think you’re too cute for a coat huh?”. Le sigh. It was never that. I just don’t like coats. I think they’re big, bulky, and I don’t live in NYC so most of my destinations are done by car. I’ve just never had a need for a coat…like a real one. So of course when I opened up my September Vogue issue and saw a statement coat on every. other. page…I knew the fashion and age goddesses has conspired together to get me on board with wearing a coat. LOL! Hmm…maybe they’re not so bad afterall 😉

Fall Trends | Beauty & Fashion

September. The last days of summer are upon us and Fall is preparing to arrive! Fall has always been my favorite season (with summer being my second to least) so obviously it ain’t so hard for me to say goodbye to summer. That…and of course a new season, means new trends. What better excuse to indulge in all things pretty! I’m loving what’s in this Fall for beauty and fashion and you know I’ll break it down for my queens so we can remain fab!

Soft Metal: Metallics are everywhere! From eyeshadows to nail polish, this is the way to go. Play up a dramatic metallic eye with bold mascara and soft lip. Pure perfection!

Statement Coats: Coats are big. Like HUGE this season. Get yourself a statement coat. Or two. Or three. Doesn’t really matter just make sure you don’t miss this trend come fall!

Bold Lips: I’m a fan of a bold lip. It’s my go to daily makeup. Keep everything neutral then La la LIPS! This season bold vampy lips are hot. These deep plum and red lipsticks have been giving me life. Life!

Prints & Patterns: I’ve just recently started loving prints. Including my newest obsession with floral so this is love! Patterned dresses to printed accessories, bold prints accent any outfit!

The Colors: Oh you thought bright colors were for spring and summer? Well they are. AND they are for fall too! Color is the wow factor of the season with blazing blues and greens as well as bold burgundy accents as well.

I’m ready for fall beauty, fashion, pumpkin spice coffee and candles, and…ok let me stop because I can go on forever. So your turn! Don’t be shy! What’s your favorite fall trend this season? Let me know ❤

Beauty LE | Maybelline On The Runway

You’d think by now I would have this beauty ~~addiction~~ obsession under control. You’d think that by now, I’d know how to go into my local drugstore or Target and not go to the beauty section. So of course it would be perfectly reasonable to assume that when I went to Rite Aid to get baby wipes and laundry detergent, that I’d get that. And I did! When I walked in the store and seen the Maybelline Fall 2013 collection FRONT and CENTER I told myself to walk by it. I said to myself, “Self, go to the baby section”….the rest of the details get a little fuzzy 😉 BUT what’s great is I now can bring to you this mini haul of the Maybelline ON THE RUNWAY Fall 2013 collection! YAY!!
