Events | Walk The Talk 2013

Queens! Happy Monday! I hope you all had another fabulous weekend and are ready to c’est la vie this week! The countdown has begun, the year is almost over, and I hope ya’ll are making the most out of it! So today, I’m really excited to share an awesome event I had the pleasure of attending over the weekend. On Sunday, the 2013 Walk the Talk Holiday Shoes/Accessories Party presented by Young, Hip, & Chic was held at Showroom 77 in Philly. This was an exclusive fashion insiders event with networking, shopping, insane giveaways, and delicious food!

This year the event was hosted by co-creator Tweety Elitou, and Sincerely Syreeta creator of sincerelysyreeta.com. Fashion bloggers, designers, artists, and more came out to mix, mingle, and obsess over all things fashion. When I say the giveaways were insane I really mean it. OPI, EDEN BodyWorks, Mixed Chicks, and Top Shelf are just a few of the products that were given away. Even if you didn’t win a giveaway there was plenty to go around in the gift bags that were packed with full size and sample products. AND as if that wasn’t enough, Shoe Republic LA was generous enough to gift all the lovely bloggers a pair of shoes. Yes, let that marinate, a free pair of shoes!

I can’t stress enough the feeling and inspiration that overcomes me being in a room with so many beautiful and talented brown women! Nothing boosts your motivation like being around and networking with like minded individuals. It was truly a pleasure to attend!

Make sure you check out the event and the awesome hosts while I style these shoes to wear to my next event ;).

Peace, Love, & Blessings

Events | Brown Girls Building Brands

Happy Monday Queens! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and are ready for the start of a fantastic new week. I’m starting this week with renowned energy and determination. Who’d thought I’d be this upbeat on a Monday?! I’d say it was because over the weekend I had the chance to go to my first networking event for This Brown Queen! On Saturday, I attended the Brown Girls Building Brands brunch here in Philly. The purpose of the brunch was to get brown girls who have businesses or were interested in starting a business together to learn what it takes from a panel of women who were doing it big in their respective industries.

The panel included one of my go to ladies when it comes to branding and marketing Emmelie of The Branding Muse. The lovely and glam Mia Ray of GlamAholic Lifestyle. And Sam Staten owner of AnaSa Day Spa in Philadelphia. We had the chance to hear these queens share their stories of how they turned their passions into businesses, learn why businesses fail, why they succeed, and network with other motivated brown women!

I’m so glad I had the chance to go this event. Not only did I gain valuable knowledge, I was able to connect with other like minded brown girls which is really what This Brown Queen is all about. Thanks to all the inspiring ladies I was able to meet and of course Zakia of Fck Being Fat for having the event. So excited for the future of This Brown Queen!

Peace, Love, & Blessings
