Brown Girl | Orange Lipstick
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, not following This Brown Queen or any other beauty blog, you’d know that orange lipstick is in right now. I’ll be honest, because I keep it real around these parts, when I first started seeing this trend I wasn’t here for it. I was all like “orange though? booo.” Because let’s face it. Orange isn’t exactly a standard color and I wasn’t sure how it would play out on this brown girl. So I did some digging and I’ve come up with a few different options of orange for the bold diva to the lowkey chic.
Brown Girl | Nude Lipstick
Hello Queens! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend! I hope ya’ll ate well, didn’t break the bank on black friday, and shopped small biz on Saturday! I know I did! Today I wanna talk about Nude lipstick. A staple item every beauty needs in their collection. Whether your style is natural, no make up make up or you’re a bold diva, nude lipstick is the perfect ending to any beat. There’s just one problem when you’re a brown girl. What color is nude? When you’re a brown girl “nude” comes in a variety of shades and undertones. I’ve had my fair share of troubles searching for my nude in the beauty industry. You already know. The brown girl struggle! But, the good news is there are nude shades out there that we can rock! Yup and because I love you so, I’ve put together my favorite shades of nude lipstick for my lovely brown beauties!
1. Kate for Rimmel London 08 ~ my favorite! A warm pink toned nude that has a semi matte finish.
2. Milani Teddy Bare ~ a very brown girl friendly brown toned nude.
3. Wet N Wild Mochalicious ~ a dark brown toned nude with a berry undertone.
4. Maybelline Warm Me Up ~ a soft pretty pink tone. Love this too!
5. Maybelline Nearly There ~ an almost sheer like frost pinky nude. Not my favorite for my tone but I do like it on lighter brown tones.

Beauty Review | Maybelline Color Elixir
My lovely Queens! Wow can’t believe it’s been so long since my last post! Forgive me loves! I promise you it’s for good reason. Working on some pretty amazing things and I can not wait to share all this greatness with you all! All in good time :). Today I’m bringing you another fabulous beauty review because ya’ll know I’m all about keeping you posted on all the must have beauty buys <3. When I come across a product I LOVE, of course I’m coming straight to This Brown Queen to rave about it. So what am I swooning over today? Maybelline Color Elixir lippie!

What This Brown Queen says:
You need it. If you love lip gloss you’ll love it. If you don’t love lip gloss…you’ll still love it. This product is like amazing. I’m not a fan of lip gloss because…well…I usually feel like I look like I just ate a big ol’ piece of chicken and THAT my friends is not a good look. Plus most lip glosses I’ve tried are usually super sticky and I just don’t like the feel of it on my lips. Then there’s the fact that most lip glosses just aren’t that pigmented and what’s a good lip product with no pigment? Needless to say, I’ve just never been that excited over them. But THIS, this right here…there’s none of that going on.
I picked up two shades on a whim. Caramel Infused and Signature Scarlet. Upon my first application I was in love! Signature Scarlet is SO pigmented to be a gloss! I was not expecting this color payoff at all! It glides on so smooth and stays that way. Not sticky or thick, but yet, it’s still glossy in appearance. Mindblown O_O. Caramel Infused is a nude color that is just perfect. You get a hint of brownish pink with that same smooth and gloss like finish. I mean it really doesn’t get any better than this.

The are 20 shades in the line and as far as I can tell they’re not LE (if you’ve seen anything different please let me know!). I definitely plan on picking up a few more shades because…well do I really need to say any more?

I am huge lipstick fan. And while I know most Queens think the cat’s meow are MAC lipsticks….THIS brown queen can’t always drop that kind of money on just ONE tube of lipstick. That’s more of a treat to myself than a staple product. What This Brown Queen Says: The colors are gorgeous. Very pigmented. I have not come across any matte ones, though I’ve researched and there are a few. The lipstick is very creamy. It doesn’t go on dry at all. Very smooth. The lasting power is ok. Some colors stay on longer than others and some colors stain while others don’t. I find that even though the product isn’t drying, that some of them still can leave a flaky residue behind when it fades. Noticeable especially when you go to reapply. I combatted this issue by making sure I always moisturize my lips again before reapplying. Usually takes care of that. For the price and quality, these lines are my go to lippies from daily wear to more bold looks. See my swatches below:
