I don’t know what it is but I’ve really been loving stripes lately. Any stripes. Stripes on shirts, skirts, maxi dresses gimme all of it! Something about them just says casually sophisticated to me. Is that a term? Lol.

Hey loves! I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve posted! Life has been throwing me through a loop so please don’t charge it to my heart. My Macbook needs a new battery which sucks so bad. On top of that I’ve been working on a few freelance projects that have me up insane hours of the night. Most days have been lip gloss, brows, and go so you know it’s real!

Oh my goodness this weekend was everythinggg as far as the weather was concerned. It was downright beautiful outside. I was itching to get out with the kiddies first thing in the morning but Friday night was wash day and my flat twists were not dry by the time we went to head out. So turban life for me it was.
What I Wore | NYC Edition
New York! Over the weekend my friend and I took a mini road trip to NYC. We were headed to the In her Shoes Blog & Essence Magazine beauty and brains behind the brand series, with a pit stop for brunch and other fun in New York. This not so Spring weather had me pressed all week about what to wear as it was just too cold to wear my orginially planned dress so I went to my old faithful casual chic look…I still was cold but cute so it worked out ;).

Winter has officially lost it. You should have seen my face earlier this week when I saw the weather include SNOW in March. BYE. That’s all I have to say about it. I just want it to be warm outside soooo bad ya’ll. I just want to wear pastel colors, midi skirts, and no coat. That’s it. That’s it. This is what I would wear, if Spring was to you know, come…ever.

What to Wear | Workplace in the Spring
I know I wasn’t alone in my excitement this past weekend when the faintest glimmer of Spring arrived with the mildest temperatures we’ve seen in A. Long. Time. I went outside and was beyond happy at how nice it was! My kids were actually able to spend the better part of the day outside playing (a luxury I’ve missed immensely! Lol). Almost equally as exciting as the weather is the realization that Spring fashion is coming in full effect! I’ve been having to attend more work and blog related meetings so I’ve been looking to spruce up my work wardrobe. Here’s a cute idea for a nice spring work appropriate outfit.
My heart is content with minimalist style, so this simple jumper paired with a bright pastel blazer is such a perfect go to outfit for me. Keep the shoes simple as well and soft nude nails for the win! Get the look!

Beauty Haul | Maybelline Spring 2014
Hey loves! So I RARELY do haul posts but this one was so necessary! Ever since the internets started buzzing about Maybelline’s Spring collection I was READY. All I knew was that there’d be limited edition the buffs lipsticks and the nudes nail lacquers. So pretty much perfection in a bottle. It honestly took me awhile to find these. But they finally turned out up at my local Rite Aid and of course I had to pick up a few things.
