Happy Sunday beauties! It’s late but I’m finally débuting my newest makeup obsession. Last week I posted on Instagram about how the Mr. went creeping on my Nordstrom wish list and got me Rihanna’s Viva Glam 2 lipstick and lipglass. When I got the package at work…. *faints*. Yes it was that real. This lipstick is such a unique color I wasn’t sure how it’d look but just knew I wanted it. I mean the packaging alone is worth it!
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you’ll see me talk a lot about my boys. In case you’re new around here, I have three ages 9, 6, & 2. Up until this year when our oldest entered 4th grade, we’ve been pretty much smooth sailing. Our boys are good kids. They do kid things and get good grades. But 4th grade has been like…a whole new world. And that’s not to say things are bad, but more so I’m definitely noticing a change when it comes to parenting our oldest. So when I heard about Oprah’s Lifeclass on OWN with Dr. Shefali Sunday about Conscious Parenting I definitely wanted to tune in and figure out what is going on inside the head of kids…specifically this almost 10 year old fourth grade son of mines. Hey beauties! Happy Friday! It’s the first weekend of Fall and I’ve been having all pumpkin spice everything for the past couple of weeks so I’m more than ready. I like to be prepared for these sort of things ;). Last weekend was super busy for me attending work events in the city and tending to the crew. A mothers job is nevaaa done. I have a confession to make. I got married…and I didn’t wear white. There it is! Two years ago, this younger (and less financially equipped lol) girl eloped with a very small intimate ceremony on a snowy morning in February…in a red dress. And I wouldn’t change it for the world! But let’s be honest, every girl wants a dream wedding so we’ve always planned that on our 10 year anniversary we would renew our vows and plan the wedding of my dreams. Queens! I’ve seriously seriously missed you. Can you believe the insanity that is me not posting since August 1st?! I can’t. I could go into the long drawn out craziness that caused such a long absence but the short version is I got sick. Like really sick. Nothing too crazy but definitely a rough couple of weeks while I tried to get better. Which as a mother, when you’re sick it’s just like another day to them so my recovery was anything but quick and sweet. I’m so glad to finally be feeling like myself again and to be back here! Right in time for the changing seasons, trends, and my favorite time of the year!
Happy Friday. Happy August. Happy Day! Can you believe it’s August though seriously? Where is the time going?! Le sigh. So anyway, guess what? I finally got my hands on the new (well maybe not so new since it only took me forever and a day to find it) Maybelline Nudes Palette. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was when I first found out about this. A drugstore neutral palette?! Here for it. Yes ma’am.
Can’t believe it’s been a year already. It seems like only last week I was posting about turning 26 and yet here I am at 27. This year has seriously flown by. When you’re caught up in the day to day it’s easy to lose sight of the progress, the journey. But when I really think about it…I’ve accomplished so much during my 26th year of life. It feels good and a little surreal that I’m really in my late twenties. For real this time, like I can’t even pretend anymore.
When it comes to this beauty thing, it’s easy to blog endlessly about the newest lipstick or favorite bronzer or which foundation I’m loving at the moment (because it’s forever changing). But I know for me, one thing that I tend to overlook here on the blog is the importance of caring for your skin. I’ll be honest though, and I’m no professional, but I’ve watched my fair share of YouTube videos where the skin care routine is literally 50 million steps and I’m just O_O yea, no. Ain’t nobody got time for that. But some type of skincare regimen is important. Especially in the summer when you’re out in the sun, beach, oily, sweaty and…you get the picture.
